Brett Coonrod, J.D.
Mediator/Arbitrator

Brett Coonrod is a graduate of the University of North Texas and the University of Kansas School of Law. He has practiced law for over 40 years representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases ranging from simple automobile cases to franchise disputes to complex tort litigation and is currently a founding member of Coonrod Law, LLC and Innovative Dispute Resolution, LLC. He is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri state and federal courts although he has been involved in cases throughout the United States.

Brett is also a trained mediator. He is an approved mediator pursuant to the rules of the Kansas and Missouri Supreme Courts and is approved as a Mentor Mediator in Kansas. He is on the panel of mediators for the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri and for the United States Court for the District of Kansas. Brett is a chair-qualified arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He also serves as a neutral for National Arbitration and Mediation and is on the arbitrator roster for Arbitration Resolution Services and the National Futures Association. Brett also serves as a volunteer mediator for the EEOC and as co-coordinator and volunteer mediator for the Johnson County, Kansas District Court’s Limited Actions Mediation Project.

Brett lives in Kansas City, Missouri and is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of The American Theatre Guild. Brett is a licensed realtor in both Kansas and Missouri.
